built over: old path to Purdown Ridge known as Cut-
Throat Lane, with tunnels; stone tower, formerly in
Gothic style with Gothic curtain wall, now Linden
Ward, probably C18, possibly by Thomas Wright as
eye-catcher from Stoke Park, South Gloucestershire
(qv); rustic timber lodge (now gone) probably by
Thomas Wright, model for similar survivor at Blaise
Castle (qv); mature trees; farm buildings.
